Anandi, an expressive, graceful and lively dancer of Odissi and Bharatanatyam has carved a niche for herself as a solo artist earning immense popularity in India and abroad. Dance, for Anandi is extensive, going beyond the purely professional and academic realms. Gods and Goddesses for Anandi are part of her psyche and dance is her soul.

Anandi is a senior disciple of the doyen Guru Shri Padma Vibhushan Kelucharan Mahapatra. Encouraged by her tenacity and passion for classical dance, the Bhulabhai Memorial Institute granted her a scholarship to do an in-depth study of Odissi from Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra at Cuttack. She had commenced her training in Bharatanatyam at an early age under Guru Shri T.K. Mahalimgam Pillai of the Raja Rajeswari Bharata Natya Kala Mandir. Anandi underwent extensive Abhinaya training under Smt.Kalanidhi Narayan. Anandi has also had the good fortune of being acquainted with the senior master of Kuchipudi, Guru Shri Acharyalu and has learnt selective ancient pieces in Kuchipudi from him.
Anandi has extensively performed in India and abroad. She has participated in all prestigious dance festivals such as the Ellora, Elephanta and Khajuraho festivals. She has also participated in festivals organized by the Sangeet Natak Academy, Festival of India at Japan and also the ones sponsored by the Commonwealth Institute and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Her portrayal of Sakuntala, Malavika and Shabari has elated audiences.

She performs and teaches at the Nrityakala Academy of Dance in Toronto and has collaborated with Chinese and Caribbean ballet dancers in their production of "Land of Cards". She has trained several students at Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia's Vrindavan Academy of Classical Dance and Music in Hong Kong. Anandi has contributed immensely to bring awareness about this ancient and beautiful dance form amongst youngsters which has become a part of value education in many prestigious Universities such as the Bombay University, York University (Toronto) and UCLA.

Anandi has the superb ability of communicating with children at their level of understanding. She uses their own capabilities to sharpen their skill to the minutest detail. She also has been blessed with a soulful voice and sound knowledge of music. Anandi has been known to sing while performing her dance and has often transported the audience to the heavenly abode of Gods and Goddesses.

Anandi has been awarded the Shringar Mani award by Sur Samsad, Mumbai. She is a National Artist of the Doordarshan Network and has been empanelled by ICCR for selection in National/ International performances. She has been felicitated by the Center of World Music in San Diego and also by the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Ottawa.

Anandi has been associated and worked with India's Film Directors. She uses her dance expression and body language to train models in advertising commercials.

Anandi's ambition lies in spreading this blissful experience of classical art form to every part of the world....The art form that was handed over to her by the great Gurus.
